写真家 清永安雄（1948年香川県生まれ）は、1966年、ジャン＝ウジューヌ・アジェ、アーロン・シスキンドに影響を受け、写真の道を志す。長くフォトジャーナリズムの世界に身を置き、当時、まだ珍しかった企業広報の制作会社を創業し、後に出版事業にも進出。これらの経験で培われた着眼点や観察眼、発想といったものが、彼の創作活動の源泉にもなっている。

Yasuo Kiyonaga (born 1948 in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan) is a photographer who, inspired by Jean-Eugène Atget and Aaron Siskind, began his journey in photography in 1966. After a long career in photojournalism, he founded a production company that specializes in corporate communications, a rare concept at the time, and later entered the publishing business. The perspectives, observational skills, and ideas that he cultivated through these experiences have also contributed to his creative activities.

1993年に作家活動を本格的に再開。長く培ってきた写真家としての感性と新世界・新世代の感性を柔軟に取り入れ、これまでのアートの価値観にとらわれない斬新で優美な作品を次々に発表している。

In 1993, he resumed his photography activities in earnest. Since then, he has released a steady stream of innovative works that challenge conventional artistic values by blending his decades of photographic experience with the sensibilities of a new world and a new generation.

京都にて京都写真美術館を運営。東京の駒込、表参道でのギャラリー運営、2021年から2026年までのパリ6区でのギャラリー・ジャパネスク・パリの運営を経て、2027年の年明けには銀座に新たなギャラリーを開く予定。

In Kyoto, he runs the Kyoto Museum of Photography. After running galleries in Komagome and Omotesando in Tokyo, and Gallery Japanesque Paris in the 6th arrondissement of Paris from 2021 to 2026, he plans to open a new gallery in Ginza in early 2027.

2026年に入ってからも、海の写真をモチーフにした幻想的な作品『Sea』、花の写真をもとに前衛的なアート手法を施した『花神─Flower Spirits』『天花─Heavenly Flowers』など、次々に新しい作品を発表し、これまでに見たことのない独自の美の世界を生み出している。その作品は多くの人を魅了しており、世界的ブランドや映像作品にも使われている。

Entering 2026, he has continued his prolific output with works such as “Sea,” an evocative series using the ocean as a motif, and “Flower Spirits” and “Heavenly Flowers,” which apply avant-garde artistic techniques to floral photography. Through these creations, he brings to life a unique and unprecedented world of beauty. His highly acclaimed body of work continues to captivate audiences globally, leading to collaborations with international brands and features in film productions.
